Council Meeting that aired Thursday October 21, 2010

Well, there was a meeting on last night and some of the regulars showed up and some didn't.  One of the main characters who came last week, stealing my words straight off of Facebook was absent.  I guess since I have a blog and everyone can read what I said, instead of a few.  He was probably at home looking through some old Malcolm X and Martin Luther King speeches to get a speech together.  That's is more than likely the reason he was absent.

Kermit Williams
My portly friend was rather quiet last night.  After he made his reference to Attica during his last meeting, he knew from reading my post on this blog that I wasn't going to hold 'em up.  If you want to throw blows I got a few.  Believe me, anything about you that needs to be known I can find out.  It's not fault that you were suppose to meet with me and claimed, because Clarence Phillips had died, you couldn't make the meeting.  To top it off, just like McIntosh you in-boxed me twenty-five minutes before our meeting. The only good thing you did was stop the city's human society from letting skunks loose in my neighborhood.  Ya'll know that the crooked fraction of the police department would have people who work for us.  People who our tax dollars pay their salary terrorize our citizens.  Once they find out who a snitch is in a case - - me being not a snitcher of drug dealers like they would want the dealers to believe.  Instead, I'm a snitcher of THEM.  Although they run around calling me crazy for stalking Steve, they tell the drug dealers that I am his woman.  That means I would do anything for him.  Then the drug dealers pay the city workers with crack and you know the rest.
I have no idea about the criminal fraction of this city.  My brother kept me far from that.  Mr. Williams I could easily ascertain has a few dealings with crooked cops and their drug dealing informants.  I don't care Boo-Boo, make that paper...As long as their are crackheads you have an income, and you have the ability to run this city!

Mattie McKinney Hatchett
If I'm not too forward, let me call this woman "Person of the Hour".  I have known she was fierce since I was ten.  Many forget that she was a principal.  She was the principal at Bethune in 1978.  It was my first experience with bullying in what was known as the "Projects".  The compounds main bully a woman named Tonya Campbell (RIP), was terrorizing children's walk home from school.  Children getting off the bus at her school would go into her office, scared to walk home, because Tonya's "hit people" picked random children to beat up on the short walk from Bethune to their homes less than three blocks away.
Ms. McKinney, as she was known back then got tired of it.  So she would go and stand outside the school and watch the children get off the bus and make the trek down the street.  I don't know who told her or if she just observed it on her own.  Tonya never laid a hand on a anyone, but just would instigate the whole thing from the background.  Something people around here are really good at.  One day, I guess Ms. McKinney was tired, busy or just plain angry.  She stepped into Tonya's face, pointed a finger and said, "It's YOU, YOU right there.  YOU start all this mess everyday!  What's wrong with you?"
Well, Tonya's parents weren't the most civil or peaceful people in the world.  Her mother had scalded their father with hot grease in the face when they were young children.  They were left pretty much with all that bitterness and anger to run the streets and create havoc for others.  Ms. McKinney didn't know all of this, but she knew who the catalyst was stopping her from getting other things done during that time of the day.  Boy, did she let her have it!  I want to scream "hallelujah"!  My brother was the biggest cry-baby and I fought most of the time to keep him off the ground from folk pounding him crazy.  You know bullies go for the weak ones first.  I stayed off the ground everyday, because you know I wasn't having it.
In the same fashion as she did last night, she laid down the law, and told Tonya she wasn't going to bother those children anymore and she said something to the effect that, "I SEE YOU!  If you start some mess again, you're out!"  Tonya thought she was so smart, because she never touched anyone and thought she would never find out yelled back, and broke her "goody image" most master manipulators try and keep.  Her true colors came out.  She told Ms. McKinney she was going to tell her Momma and that they would be back up there.
Ms. McKinney was walking away and she turned around and said, "I don't care! I'll be waiting for ya'll!  Cause you going to stop bothering these children everyday!!!"
Last night, she did something similar to her confrontation with a bully.  She told the people of the city her job and th job of the City Council.  She also told us that they (well all but one of them) weren't doing their job.  They hadn't done their research and pretty much had given up on our police contract.  She also told us that their was a place we could go and air our disdain for the this Oakland County Sheriff thing.  A place where it matters, her forum at the Oakland County Commissioners Meetings.  I love when people like Ms. Hatchett comes to the podium with knowledge and gives the public a clear understanding of what's going on.  She's no longer 30 something, and has gotten better at her confrontation style.  She told the Council they didn't know what they were doing in the sweetest way.  She was angry, just like that time on Lake Street 30 years ago, but she was refined and dignified.  Some things really do get better with age.  Most people don't appreciate when I give them kudos.  It brings the crookedness in this city to their door step.  May I add Ms. McKinney lives directly in the paths the skunks took to my house.
She's a strong woman, smart and she don't take no mess!  I like that about anyone.  As for Tonya Campbell, I would like to say although she was in a confrontation with a 12 year old, "Drastic times call for drastic measures".  Those children in those "Projects" were diabolical, she had just the right amount of anger, zeal and refrain to squash the trouble.  I tell you after that day the walk home from school was a peaceful walk.  Just like last night opened my eyes to a process I had no clue about.  I might not ever get in front of the mic again at our City Council, but I just might voice my opinion at a County Commissioner's Meeting.  If Ms. Hatchett is there I have a feeling some real business is getting done!

Lee Jones
Well, to be honest, I don't want to give him more than a few lines.  He's a liar, and the reason he gave to the people for going to Baltimore is different from the reason he gave on Facebook.  He claimed there that they had gotten 20 million dollars from raising money from public and private resources.  That's when I asked what had they done with the their money?  Since they had just obtained it and hadn't done anything with it his trip was futile.  He did go do some research, but he is a faker.  Besides the foreclosure crisis has little to do with Pontiac (most of our residents rent), and Baltimore is not a good city to use in comparison to Pontiac for anything.  Our city is unique in so many ways.  I'm not going to say how, because he would only steal them and claim them as his.  Most likely he would research what I said, also, because at this point he don't know what to research.  Did you catch the reference to speaking and working with L. Brooks Patterson? He must be reading my blog! :) He has never tried to approach Brooks Patterson, because Patterson has a "faking niggah" radar.  Don't take that the wrong way!  I didn't spell it the other way, but the ghetto way, as it is fitting in this blog!  He knows that Pontiac elects a whole lot of incompetent people who don't know anything about running a municipality, but look up a few statistics, use a few "big words" and think they are fooling men like him.  He don't want to talk to another "faking niggah" out of Pontiac.  Now he will talk to an intelligent African-American or Black Counicilperson.  If you can't take the stats you acquire and put them to use in your program, the long and the short of it is "your just reciting numbers".
I don't like the man, but I know he is a smart man.  Like I said he has succeeded in holding this city down for years.  If he could live and work in this county for another 20 years or be like John Dingell, we would be in big trouble.  Thank God, he is a man of travel, good food and other perks of being well-off.  He'll be gone in about 10 years.  Retired!

Others
A few others showed up, but nothing productive was said, and it was the same old, same old.  I wasn't impressed and no one came up with anything creative or innovative.  There was a call for more business in the city, but how can we achieve that when we can't protect the people's investment.  We have no police force, but that's a good thing.  They were all crooked drug dealing and drug addicts.  I wished we could get some grant money and hire real police men and women whose parents weren't part of some Mayor's "team", who had all the answers to the test and who got the job over real candidates who were more deserving.  Only then can we attract more business.  Nobody wants to do business with people who don't know how to do business, can't understand the paperwork, have never seen a business report, can't understand an annual report or understands the workings of a municipality.  In tough economic times nobody has time to teach you and you needed to teach yourself before you took the job.  I can't give you any answers.
Please stop coming to the mic with half-baked antidotes and catch phrases and quotes from people you don't even know to understand their entire philosophy.
Gentlemen, I use that term lightly with most of them, please stop letting the women up stage you at these meeting.

The cat and dog lady gives some pretty sound and informative speeches, too.  Not to mention the lady and the closing of Pontiac Central.  I didn't agree, but she was so passionate.

The trash I speak on this forum is all true, everything else is my opinion and I'm entitled to it.  If I ever tell what you consider a lie, please e-mail me and I will give you people who will back up my stories.  But its' all the truth, I might say it too loud sometimes, but I always tell the truth!  Slander is against the law!  Since my unfortunate incarceration, I try not to break a semblance of the law.  They can get you on that, too.  I'm a living witness of that!  I'm just saying!
